See where you’re accumulating fat and we’ll tell you how to fix it.
Weight gain doesn’t look the same on everyone—and that’s exactly why so many “one-size-fits-all” diets and workout plans fail. Some people store fat mainly around the belly, others around the hips and thighs, and for many, stress, hormones, lifestyle, or health conditions play a major role in how and where the body holds onto extra weight. Understanding your personal fat distribution pattern can be a powerful first step toward choosing a weight management approach that actually works for you.

Identify your body fat distribution type and learn how to control it
Obesity is a complex problem with varied causes, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Understanding where your body stores fat can help you choose the right weight management strategy.
Main types of fat distribution
Research shows that there are different types of fat accumulation that require personalized treatment. A study of 4,000 obese adults categorized them into six main types:
Healthy young women – overweight but with minimal health complications (e.g., type 2 diabetes).
People who drink a lot of alcohol are similar to the first group, but with higher alcohol consumption.
Middle-aged people suffering from anxiety and depression – most often women in their fifties who also have mental health problems.
Older, wealthy, healthy people – despite being obese, they are healthy, but often suffer from high blood pressure and higher alcohol consumption.
Adults with physical illnesses but good mental health – have chronic illnesses (e.g., osteoarthritis) but feel mentally well.
People in poor general health – often facing financial difficulties and suffering from multiple chronic illnesses.
This classification highlights the need for personalized weight control strategies.
